About Noah T. Lee
"Once during an audition for a show, the director caught me off guard by asking me the question: 'Why do you do theatre?' I responded, 'Because, without it, nothing else makes sense in life.' An instinctive answer but true. Theatre has been my life's driving force in one way or another, through acting or directing, I aim to pursue my passion and direct others to theirs." - Noah

I have worked with Noah Lee many times before. The most recent was in 2019 when he played the lead, Riley McCormick, in my production of It's a Long Story. Originally, Noah did not audition for the production but instead bailed me out during last-minute callbacks when I didn't have enough guys to cast in the show. Noah blew me away with his audition for Riley and worked extremely hard over the course of the production once cast. Noah memorized almost 300 lines and even helped with reworking some of the ones that needed to be changed due to the production circumstances. Noah takes direction very well and is open to making last-minute changes if needed. He was also respectful, considered all notes, and engaged in a healthy discussion regarding his blocking and character. If given a chance, I would absolutely work with Noah again, and I am excited to see where he goes from here.
Noah T. Lee was a pleasure to work with as my A.D. for the production of Big Love at the University of Akron. He was very helpful and patient with me and the other freshman actors who, at the time, had never been in any collegiate productions before. When our director was in the hospital, he did a great job hosting rehearsal to work on scenes that we didn't feel as confident with and gave very helpful notes. He is my favorite director that I have ever worked with because of how nice he is as a person and his talent in giving actors notes that outline exactly what he wants while also giving room for the actor to experiment and grow their own talents.

Noah always had a vision that I knew I could rely on, both for characterization and hope that we were going to perform something special. He seemed to understand where I needed direction as well as where I just needed to be left alone for a minute to figure it out myself. The lack of over-directing stood out to me - he seemed to have a sense of when we as actors needed him and when we didn’t. From day one I could tell Noah had a vision for the show and so I was confident even when things were going haywire that we would get where we needed to go. I had complete confidence in him to work with the production staff to handle every need that arose through the run of the show. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better hand at the helm.
Matthew Pastoria (Frollo) The Hunchback of Notre Dame
It was a great night! Great company. And Noah Lee did an awesome job directing. And the show was really fun (well, if you can call the dehumanization of a disfigured human being, the attempted rape of a gypsy girl by a "man of god", the pouring of fire on 3 soldiers, and the marginalization of a entire group of people "fun"). When Noah chose this play to direct, he told me he was struck by the similarity to today's political climate, especially the plight of the gypsies, paralleled so deeply by the plight in this country of the undocumented. who would've thought Disney would be so prescient? Thanks, Noah!

Immediately upon being cast, Noah set to work on his text and showed an excellent understanding of speaking in the iambic pentameter verse form. His speech was always clear and coherent, and the thought process behind his lines was transparent, while none of the poetry was lost. Noah was emotionally and intellectually engaged in his work on the Prince, exploring the given circumstances of the role, and imaginatively applying them to his personal experience and inner life. He was always actively involved in cast discussions about the objectives and actions of the scenes, and quick to point out significant circumstances that even I would miss. The resulting performance was one that was intelligent, engaging, and emotionally alive. His curiosity and eagerness to continue working outside the rehearsal room were reflected in his frequent questions and search for acting suggestions after rehearsal was over. I would gladly work with him again.
"This is absolutely wonderful. I am so pleased with the production. Everything is simply stellar. As someone who created the roles, I can tell you that the casting is dead on. I love how physical the direction is. The music is so perfect..." "You both (Noah Lee and Cole Schraitle) did a spectacular job directing, capturing the dark humor and silliness." "It's comforting to me to see my play put together with such dedication. Every aspect was well thought out. I appreciate the balance between interpreting the text and allowing your own stamp to shine through." "From the film noir set to the perfect casting, I am thrilled" "...Thank you so much for treating my little play with so much respect."
